Q. What are the scheduled shifts?
A. Individualized Skills & Socialization (ISS - Day Center) the typical shifts are MON - FRI
7:30AM - 3:00PM or 8:00AM - 3:30PM
Group Homes (RSS) the typical shifts are as follows; MON - FRI 3P - 11P (Evening) & 11P - 8A
SAT & SUN are (12) hour Shifts from 8A - 8P (Dayside) or 8P - 8A (Overnight).
Q. Do I have to transport in my personal vehicle?
A. Ngozi Place has transport vehicles. Our goal is to ensure we have the vehicles for client use at all times. This may require you starting your day earlier (like arriving to retrieve the van from the client home earlier so that you can be on time when picking up or dropping clients off in a timely manner.)
Q. How much does this position pay?
A. The state allots in the budget $8.11 per hour, per direct care position. (The State of Texas has passed legislation to raise the $8.11 hourly to $10.60 in September 2025.) Many HCS companies offer $9.25 to $10.00 per hour as their max pay. Ngozi Place HCS starts its staff at $11 for non to low experienced staff, and caps out at $13 for the direct care position. You can increase your pay by gaining CNA certification. From there, we will have to discuss promotion and additional responsibilities to increase your pay rate. (We also offer increased payrates for staff whose main schedule revolves around the WEEKEND.)
Q. Where are the locations to the homes?
A. All of our homes are located within Fort Worth Texas at this time (As of 10-18-2024). They are approximately less than 20 minutes from our office. All group homes are within a 15 minute travel time of each other, and many of them are within a street over from one another.
Q. When is pay day?
A. Paydays are on Monday, bi - weekly.
Q. Is there direct deposit?
A. We do not currently offer direct deposit.
Checks are available for pick up after 1PM on Monday. You have from Monday 1PM of pay day until Thursday 3PM of the same week before your mail will be delivered to your last address on file by Certified Mail.
Q. What is the pay period?
A. Time will be processed AFTER 5PM on the Wednesday following the end of the pay period, and BEFORE Friday 5PM following the Monday of the same week. Checks given no interruption or delay, should be available on the following Monday as stated above.
(In other words, you have up to 15 days to submit time card correction needs. Do not wait until AFTER 5PM on the Monday after the end of the pay period. Any submissions after this time frame will be processed with the NEXT payroll cycle.
Q. When will I receive my first check?
A. Upon completion of orientation and your first on job training, you will be compensated for training on the first available check. (You will not be paid for orientation if you do not complete your first on job training shift.) Please note that your start date affects how soon you will be paid.
Q. How many hours can I expect to work?
A. Full time staff typically work up to (32 - 40) hours, Part time is (24 - 31) hours, and anything under an average of 24 hours a week is considered PRN.
